Thomas Schmidt leads the Microtechnologies Schleswig-Holstein Cluster, and is chairman of the association Hightech Itzehoe e.V. He is the contact person for all questions about business start-ups and establishment as well as regional development.
Thomas Schmidt studied business administration with a focus on technology management in the department of economics at the University of Applied Sciences Lausitz in Cottbus/Senftenberg, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. In his dissertation he dealt with “Financing of innovation by the use of venture capital for high-tech companies”.
Before beginning his studies, he completed a vocational training as a machine and plant fitter in Cottbus and then worked at the power plants at Vattenfall Europe AG. Thomas Schmidt has been part of the team at IZET Innovation Centre Itzehoe since 1998.
